I am a 23 year old college student from germany and started picking up
Wing Chun about a year ago in the Leung Ting WT-family. I am very
blessed to have Tassos A. Panagiotopoulos, a 5th practician, as my Sifu.
My way to Wing Chun Kuen started out in 1997,
where I worked on the mediterranean island of Ibiza as a sailing teacher
and animator in a holiday club. I was blessed to get to know a person,
who was already learning WT and who had a different "lease-on-life" than
most other persons.
He was very sensible and peaceful, which impressed
me from the first moment on. I started to read books, that dealt with
the questions of life, and how to deal with it, and the reality of our
death, " The Celestine prophecies" by Redman, and "The way of the
peaceful warrior" by Dan Millman ( wonder if anyone read :) )
. Thus I
informed myself about a school in my neighborhood, and picked up WT. It
has already made such a huge difference in my life, that I feel really
blessed, and try to convince my friends to start also ( my best one has
;) ). I have gotten more self confident, and already feel to be more
peaceful and flexible, soft and forgiving in my thoughts and emotions,
due to my practice. I know that I am just at the beginning of a
wonderful journey, but I enjoy it as I do my first steps.
